Recently got back into Critical Hit and Tekkit
With the death of the Farsh-nuke I've been thinking about the lack of strong female leads in good scifi and fantasy films and decided to get on my high horse about it.
I want to combine the forces of fanfic writers into a guild and start producing work solely with female leads. The idea alone isn't enough though so I'm thinking of having a replacement led character/setting/series.
The character is a young teacher at an all girls school/college/university who discovers she is the reincarnation of one of the lesser known Elder Gods, of which the Farsh-nuke is one. Specifically she is Gfaxxy-Quluwmcy, a god of reason. She was basically the person who stopped the Farsh-nuke and the Bam-Kursh tearing up the nothingness back when they were elder gods. She had herself executed in the same way as the Farsh-nuke and the Bam-Kursh in the hope that those she reincarnates as would keep the peace. When the teacher discovers this though she's distracted by more local matters, particularly the conspiracy and the fact that her friends and students are being picked off. She decides to resolve matters and in the course of which forms a band of super heroines, the Sylph Liberation Front and grows to become the woman who will be an important figure in the Farsh-nuke TV series, if I ever get it off the ground.
This is The Avengers meets Harry Potter meets Allo Allo meets (of course) Doctor Who meets Lovecraft and all female.
